The social-legal (advocacy) activity of the organization is aimed at improving the general conditions and protection of the rights of orphans and children deprived of parental care. We are actively involved in the modification and improvement of state policy in the best interests of children and families with children. We appeal to the authorities and the public, making every possible effort to stop violations of children’s rights and improving their living conditions.
SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine is actively involved in the implementation of the National Strategy for Institutional Children’s Care System Reform for 2017-2026 and a programme of measures to put the Strategy into practice. Our goal is to have every child brought up in the family!
We want young people who are under the care of SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine to be heard and influence policy formulation in the field of children’s rights protection. That is why we support the development of the National Children’s Council under the Ombudsman of Ukraine and delegate to the Council young people from SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine.
In 2014, the SOS Children’s Village became a co-founder of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network, which includes leading national and international organizations that are in charge of children’s rights protection. The network aims to promote the reform of the social services delivery system in order to improve their quality and accessibility for children and families with children, as well as solving urgent issues in the area of children’s rights protection in Ukraine.
